Three Lentil Hamburger Dish

This hearty and simple skillet combines home-style taste with added nutrition. It provides a source of fiber, iron, and vitamin C. This quick go-to entrée is kid-friendly and family approved.

 

2 lbs. lean ground beef or ground pork

1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped

1/4 cup chopped red/yellow or green peppers

1/3 cup Willow Creek Organic Three Lentil Mix

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1/2 tsp. salt

ground Willow Creek Organic Pepper  to taste

1/2 tsp Willow Creek Organic Cayenne  or Willow Creek Organic Paprika

1 3/4 cup water

 

*Cooking times can vary based on the batch size. 

In separate bowl add Willow Creek 3 Lentil Mix and 1 ¾ cups water and let soak.

In a heavy bottomed frying pan on med. heat add ground beef or pork adding garlic, onions, salt, pepper, cayenne (or paprika) and cook until done.

Add chopped green/red or yellow peppers then add the Willow Creek 3 lentil coating mix, stirring often.

Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer on low heat for 10-15 min., stirring often.

Remove the pan from the heat and allow to rest 5 minutes.
