Sunflower Pizza Dough


Sunflower Pizza Dough
(Use organic ingredients whenever possible).
Pizza night will become a little healthier with this nutritious dough as your crust. Made with whole wheat flour, flax, and sunflower seeds, you will want to finish every last high-fiber crumb off your plate. Spread with our Pizza Sauce recipe and your favorite toppings.
2 Tbsp. water
3 Tbsp.
2/3 cup warm water
2 tsp. yeast
2 tsp.
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. raw sugar
1/2 cup
, ground to flour1 1/8 cup 100% whole wheat flour
2 Tbsp.
*Cooking times can vary based on the batch size.
Add Three Lentil Mix to 2 Tbsp. water and let sit.
Put yeast into warm water and sugar
Preheat oven to 375°.
Place ingredients as listed in recipe into bread machine.
Set on dough cycle.
When cycle is complete, remove dough and lay on lightly floured counter.
Punch down and let rest 10 minutes.
With a rolling pin, stretch out dough to fit pizza pan.
Place dough on pan, spread 1 1/2 cup pizza sauce (see next recipe) over top and complete with toppings of your choice.
Bake at 375° for 30 minutes
Pizza Sauce
A tasty and robust pizza sauce with nutritional benefits. 3/4 cup onion, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup tomato paste
1 Tbsp.
or1 Tbsp. balsamic or red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. raw sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
In a medium saucepan, heat oil to medium.
Sauté onions until transparent, adding garlic to pan for at least 5 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes to one hour.
